Beautiful sailing
Sunsail is based in Mahe, the capital of the Country at a marina a couple of miles from the airport. Boats were good, I always use Sunsail (I had a boat with them in the past and have used them in the BVI, Thailand and the Med) and was not disappointed here. We took a 40’ mono (I think it was a Beneteau) and aside from a few dings in the gelcoat and a bit of wear on the chart table, had no problems.
We went to the islands of Praslin, which were great for diving (the tortoises are real cool). I recommend a boat boy for bargaining with merchants and anchor watch, as the local merchants tend to take advantage of tourists. That being said, the towns can be tourist traps, so I steered clear after a couple of days.
Weather can be bad, so pick the right time of year, and be careful to avoid the strong currents when putting the hook down.
Diving is awesome, beautiful untouched reefs full of life – if you dive would highly recommend the Seychelles, but great even if not.
