For the adventurous sailor
Their base is a 2 hour ferry ride from Mahe, and we took the boat from Praslin and dropped it off Mahe, making for a good one-way trip. We explored the outer islands in a new French Catamaran (they have a bunch of nice ones from the big charter builders), they also have a few monos and South African cats as well.
Their boats are quite new and well maintained, but the highlight here is the region. The archipelago is basically a big marine sanctuary, with beautiful island coves, unspoiled beaches and good diving opportunities.
Like most of the places I have been, the locals are not exactly service oriented and seemed largely indifferent. The government is corrupt and inept, so the infrastructure is underdeveloped and the markets have little produce. Not exactly a tourist trap, but great for the adventurer.
