Poor service and charters
We arrived on a Saturday and were told that our yacht was not yet available, we were told to return after midday. The weather was pleasant and we enjoyed a breakfast in the town. However by 4pm there was no sign of the yacht and when we queried this we were told that we could stay nearby overnight, or go elsewhere. We asked to see management and were told to wait in a dirty and overpriced Marina restaurant. By 6pm nobody had returned and we were then in no mood to be reasonable. We went to look for the same gentleman who was to deal with us and were told he had gone home.
We left the Marina and stayed overnight in an apartment in Zaboric (pleasant and clean). We returned the next morning and were told that our yacht had arrived the previous night and was now being cleaned. The girl working in the office was highly apologetic and explained that she wasn't aware of us being in the yard the day previous.
When our yacht, Adria vektor, was produced it was filthy inside, as if it had been in dry dock. The engine refused to start and the young man assigned to us was unable to even begin to remedy it. We waited an hour for a mechanic, who arrived, laughed and told us to get another boat as this one wasn't going to move.
The girl in the office offered us early lunch while she sorted things. Our replacement arrived at 3pm, 6hours after we returned to the yard, and the replacement, a marex 280, started and we moved off north.
At 5pm the engine cut out and would not restart, it felt like there was no diesel in the tank, but the gauge was reading over half. We began to drift and only for a passing fishing boat we were going to be stranded on rocks. Towed to nearby Vodice we found out that the fuel gauge was faulty and that there was very little fuel to begin win, less than half.
On Monday morning I returned with my colleague to have frank discussion and finally the assistant owner arrived, and accused us of being unable to manage a boat and ended by telling us to leave the yard before he called the police. My colleague, an ethnic Croat, told him to go ahead and we sat in the restaurant waiting for this man's boss, a Mr. Goran Prgin. He arrived an hour later and continued our harrassment, and then when WE called the police he suddenly decided to give us back our deposit and stormed away.
We got our deposit back at 4pm, and not a single apology. Never again would we use there, and they are not indicative of Croatian marina's by a long way. A disgraceful operation, overpriced and understaffed, and with horrible customer service.
