Good for experienced sailors
Had a good charter, was similar to other Moorings locations I have been to in the Caribbean if a bit smaller.
Keep in mind that the sailing here is more challenging than other places I have been. Anchoring is the only way to go as there are few mooring balls. You have to lock you dingy at night, as I heard from local sailors. Currents are strong so you need to know how to navigate, you can't just point down the rhumb line and forget about it. Oh, and the winds can be quite strong.
That being said, it is not the tourist mecca that you have in other places, and it feels a lot more authentic and non-commecial. Just don't make it your wife's introduction to sailing like I did (a bit too much for her at the time and she never did get comfortable with the sailing).

Great location
A bit different from our previous Moorings experiences, the base is fairly new and at the time was still getting the hang of things. Unlike other bases, all the boats are on moorings, so you need to motor or row out to your vessel. Not the most convenient for getting your gear, food and people out there, but not the end of the world either. There are a couple of stores nearby, and of course they can do the provisioning for you. We went with the do-it-yourself option, but given the time spent moving stuff from shore to boat would probably go with the company provisioning option next time.
There are local stores, and they are expensive. Just make sure you budget appropriately. The sailing grounds are terrific, kind of like BVIs 25 years ago. A bit less traveled so not so many moorings and the weather is a bit more unpredictable.
Other than the lack of dock, no real problems, would go again.

Lousy service, broken boats and lazy personnel
On arrival price was $400 more than the originally quoted price of $4400.Arrived 8 pm and still took half hour to find paperwork. Next morning on walkthru windlass didn't work. Two hours later was told it was fixed but not to use it much. Dinghy davits were broken and was told to tow boat. When showed them that captains manual said "strongly suggest that dinghy is never towed" was told that was when it was owned by Nauticat, but now it was OK. Should have left right there. When asked how to get dingy to back of boat was told to pull it around in open water. Before I could do that it flipped. Back to dock, two more hours and had replacement dinghy. It is now 2:00pm with one hour left to motor. Got to a mooring. Next morning went to use dinghy and tiller fell off.Brought it into shop. Was repaired and returned promptly 18 hours later on third day of trip. By now head was leaking, freezer compressor was overheating, and tape on fan wires had fallen off. Brought boat back to base and flew home next day. Recommend Mooring? Not in this lifetime.

Very friendly and helpful staff
I sailed in the St. Vincent area before but this was the first time leaving from Canouan. The limited availability of flights is the biggest factor when considering this destination. Departing flights are very early which requires bringing the boat back to base the night before. Luggage was delayed, but the Moorings staff happily delivered the bags to the boat at our second day destination. I would encourage everyone to have Moorings provision for all days of your charter. We were out for 10 days and only provisioned for three. We found a few small stores but a very limited selection and expensive. Found it better to eat all meals out. Great local restaurants and very friendly everywhere we went. I've been sailing yearly with Moorings for over 25 years and found it nice to visit islands that haven't been commercialized. Don't expect the islands to supply your entertainment - travel with people you like and you'll have a nice experience sailing the St. Vincent area.
